Board and Train Programs in Knoxville, TN (Puppy, On-Leash, & Off-Leash)

Board and train programs are our most comprehensive option for dog owners who want the most thorough results. Your dog lives at our facility receiving daily structured training from expert dog trainers.

This isn’t just “dog camp”—it’s focused and purpose driven training with professional trainers who know how to get lasting results. Board and train programs include routine updates throughout the training. They also include owner transfer lessons throughout and at completion of the program. We’ll teach you exactly how to maintain your dog’s new skills so everything carries over at home. Without this step, even the best training can fade.

Puppy Obedience Training Knoxville, TN

Puppies between 10 weeks and 6 months old are in a critical window for learning. The habits and behaviors you establish now will shape your dog’s life for years to come—which is exactly why puppy training matters so much.

We focus on:

• Name recognition
• Introduction to teaching/motivating basic and essential Obedience commands 
• Basic & Essential Obedience commands include (recall, heel, sit, stay, place, down, kennel, quiet, and out)

We focus on early prevention of behavior problems, not just the teaching of obedience commands. Our trainers recommend starting as early as 10-12 weeks old, once your puppy has begun their vaccine series. Vaccine requirements are enforced for the safety of all pets in our care.

On-Leash Obedience Training Knoxville, TN

For Dogs 6 months of age and older. In our on leash program we not only teach the same essential obedience commands that we do in our puppy program, but we also ensure reliability and responsiveness to those commands through a multitude of distractions and real life scenarios. You pup is introduced to a leash and taught to walk at heel through a loose leash approach. We also focus on the molding of wanted and unwanted behaviors. 

We focus on:

• Loose-leash walking at Heel (no more arm-yanking trips around the block)
• Reliability and responsiveness to obedience commands consisting of recall, down, heel, place, stay, kennel, quiet, and out commands. These commands are reinforced through a multitude of distractions while on leash. 
• Molding of Behaviors 
• Socialization with people and other dogs 
• Confidence building around new objects, sounds, and environments 
• Desensitizing 

On-leash obedience gives you control in everyday situations—walking through your neighborhood, greeting visitors at your door, or passing other dogs on the greenway.

On-leash obedience training is available for adolescent and adult dogs of any age or breed. The puppy program is not a required prerequisite to the on leash program, but it is highly recommended. 

Off-Leash Obedience Training Knoxville, TN

Our on-leash program is a required prerequisite to our off-leash program. The purpose for this is because our off-leash program is a continuation of our on-leash program being paired/reinforced with an e-collar. 

We believe dogs should be thoroughly taught prior to being reinforced with any training tools or tactics. They should have a complete understanding of what is being asked and have success doing so before you transition to the next thing. This creates a dog that is motivated to do the right thing and offer a positive response/behavior when reinforced with a training tool. If you reinforce a command with no prior teaching you can create a negative response/association. It can also lead to a dog only respecting the tool that is used to reinforce the command, not you as the handler or what is being asked. 

Having a balanced training approach of motivation, teaching, and reinforcement is essential to the overall success of a proper relationship with your dog. 

The reason we pair/condition what a dog has already learned on leash to an e-collar, is because it gives you as the owner the ability to reinforce their obedience commands off leash and from a distance. 

Off-leash training is the most thorough form of obedience training we offer. We train/reinforce through as many real life scenarios as possible from an off-leash approach. 

Off-leash reliability is the gold standard. Imagine your dog responding instantly at the park, staying in place at a distance, and ignoring squirrels, joggers, and other distractions without a leash attached.

This level of control is built only after solid on-leash foundations are in place.

Dog Behavior Modification

Dog behavior training addresses specific behavioral issues that go beyond basic commands. If your dog struggles with reactivity, fear, or any unwanted behaviors we address and mold those behaviors directly.

• Fearfulness and anxiety
• All levels of Aggression

Individual Training Lessons Knoxville, TN 

Our Individual lessons are one on one sessions with you, your dog, and our trainer. Our trainer will lay out a foundation for you and your dog, and help you through every step of the training process. This program is encouraged only for owners who desire to be very hands on throughout the entire training process. Offered in all levels of training (puppy, on-leash, and off-leash lessons). Also, offered to work on specific behavioral issues or teach specific obedience commands.   

The number of lessons needed will depend on desired level of training, goals, and results. 

Group Training Lessons Knoxville, TN

Our group training lessons are designed for training in a group setting with other dogs of the same level of training. Requires a minimum of 4 customers/dogs to perform group lessons.

We offer group training in puppy, on-leash, and off-leash lessons.  

Training Enhancements Sessions Knoxville, TN

Training enhancements are designed for our daycare and boarding dogs as an add on service during their stay. Offered as 15 or 30 minute sessions. Options include, but not limited to, working on obedience commands, leash walking, manners, behavioral issues, or fun tricks.
